Speech Sounds
Also called ‘articulation’ referring to the way someone is able to pronounce words and sounds required for speech.
Individuals with speech sound difficulties may often be misunderstood by others.
-
Expressive & Receptive Language
How someone is able to express themselves and understand others using sounds, words, sentences, gestures, signs, and alternative forms of communication.
Individuals with language difficulties may struggle with vocabulary, forming sentences, following directions, and understanding others.
-
Early Play & Social Skils
This involves all the skills required for our many social interactions! Early play skills include joint attention, turn taking, team-work, understanding other’s thoughts & feelings, and problem solving skills.
Challenges in these areas can impact friendships, play, and conversations with family, peers, and those in the community.
-
Early Literacy
Phonological awareness & early literacy skills include understanding syllables, identifying rhyme, letter-sound knowledge, as well as blending & segmenting skills (phonics).
We can address concerns with school readiness and early primary literacy skills using a structured synthetic phonics program.
-
Assessments & Screening
We are able to provide stand alone holistic communication assessments to determine the need for intervention, a short-term intensive program, classroom / parent strategies, or case monitoring.
We are also able to provide written reports where this may be required for schools, kindergartens, or applying for funding through the NDIS.
